Hey hey,

Alistair from The Run Maker here and March has been a bit of a reality check.

The honest truth? My body is cooked.

After pushing through to some intervals, I've had to pump the brakes hard. The shoulder & knees not happy and the physio has been very clear, it's back to swimming and riding for now, with a proper rehab program to get the shoulder sorted before I build the running back up properly.

It's frustrating, but I've been here before. The process is the process. Rehab is training. I'm keeping that mindset.

Shoe of the Month: On Cloudmonster 3 Hyper LS

The On Cloudmonster 3 Hyper LS dropped in 2026 and it's already turning heads.

Here's why it's worth your attention:

  • Full-length PEBA foam — the same responsive, lightweight compound found in elite race shoes, now in a daily trainer stack

  • Light Spray (LS) upper — featherlight, seamless, and supremely breathable — perfect for Perth's warm autumn runs

  • Giant stack height — maximum cushioning underfoot without the brick-like feel you'd expect

  • Impressively light at 190g — for a max-cushion shoe, that's genuinely remarkable

  • Price: ~AU$360 — premium, yes. But for the tech and the ride quality, it justifies every cent

Whether you're logging big training weeks, recovering between hard sessions, or just want a shoe that makes every run feel a little bit easier on the legs the Cloudmonster 3 Hyper LS is one of the best things On has ever made.

The best part? The crew at SBR in Rockingham have these in stock.

Check out my full review here:

Not sure where to start when buying a new shoe? I've just published a full guide on the website 3 Steps to Picking the Right Running Shoe covering terrain, sizing, and why an expert fitting beats any algorithm. Worth a read before your next purchase.

That's a wrap on March. Body might be cooked but the spirit is very much alive. Drop your race results, training updates, or April goals in the comments, love hearing from you all.

Keep running,
