Kwinana Loop Trail - Banksia Woodland

The Kwinana Loop Trail, a 13.2-mile gem just 30 minutes from Perth, is my absolute favorite running spot in Kwinana.

My favourite hidden trail I run all the time… with no one.

The Kwinana Loop Trail, a 13.2-mile gem just 30 minutes from Perth, is my absolute favorite running spot in Kwinana.

This limestone-based trail weaves through stunning Banksia woodland, offering a mix of coastal bushland, rolling hills and some neat views that make every step feel like an adventure.

The trail’s diverse terrain, mostly flat with a few steep(ish) climbs keeps things exciting, whether I’m pushing for a long run or soaking in the scenery.

Spring wildflowers, wetlands teeming with birdlife, and landmarks like Chalk Hill Lookout add to its charm, showcasing Kwinana’s natural beauty.

What I love most is solitude.

Unlike crowded city paths, this trail feels like my own private playground, with hardly another runner in sight.

The crushed limestone surface is kind to my joints, though some loose sections demand focus perfect for sharpening my trail-running skills.

Rolling hills provide just enough challenge to keep my heart pumping, and the lack of heavy foot traffic lets me lose myself in the rhythm of the run.

Navigating can be tricky due to limited signage. Multiple entry points make it easy to hop on or shorten the loop if needed.

Whether I’m chasing some elevation or craving a peaceful escape, the Kwinana Loop Trail delivers.

If you love nature, quiet trails, and a touch of challenge, give this trail a go you might just find a new favourite spot, you might even see me!
